About the Skylight

The Skylight Home » About Us

Can you imagine the things I see through the Skylight?
From up there everything is beautiful and bright.
God speaks to me in mysterious ways
And I give up everything in giving him praise.
I gather my strength from up above;
And I learn about friendship and God’s love.
When bad things happen, he helps me along;
Even when I’m in trouble, or I’ve done wrong.
When I’m lost He guides me to the light
And from there I look out into the night.
This is the same God that let the blind to see
And now He’s shown that he has just as much
faith in ME.

The Skylight is the youth ministries program at First United Methodist Church of Downtown Orlando. The Skylight provides a healthy atmosphere for youth in 6th to 12th grade in which they can get to know God, learn about His love, and generally have a blast!

The Skylight provides a means for teens to develop their faith in God. We encourage this development through Sunday morning SonLight, Sunday evening Youth Group, The Core leadership team, serving through local mission projects and summer mission trips, as well as other fun events throughout the year.
