Mystery Trips: Mystery Revealed
Both the High School and Middle School Mystery Trips were last weekend and both were huge successes. We promised the biggest Mystery Trips ever and we delivered.
The Middle School Mystery Trip started off with something we’ve never done before, helicopter rides over Central Florida. Their flight took them over Disney, International Drive and the other Orlando hot spots. They went up in groups of three and saw all there was to see.
After everyone’s flight, the Middle Schoolers returned to earth and had a cookout dinner at St. Luke’s UMC, where they would spend the night.
The next morning, after a traditional pancake breakfast, it was off to the new SeaWorld water park, Aquatica for a day of wet ‘n wild rides and fun. The Middle School group had a great time.

The first ever High School Mystery Trip was quite possibly the worst kept mystery of them all, though it still managed to throw a few surprises. The destination was the Florida Keys and a stop at three of them.
The trip began with a day at the beach, a cookout and a snorkeling tour at John Pennekamp State Park on Key Largo. This day included fresh coconuts and a whole bunch of coral and fish, not to mention a five mile boat ride to the dive site. After the snorkeling tour, and a quick “mission trip” shower, it was off to the Islamorada Fish Company for a sunset dinner. Once the sun had set and dinner was had, it was off to Key West UMC for the night.
Our day on Key West included walking all over the island, visiting various stores and restaurants, a stop at Zachary Taylor State Park’s incredible beach, a visit to the Southernmost Point in the USA, and Mallory Square’s famous Sunset Celebration where street performers did flips off ladders and juggled fire and asked for money. At the end of the day it was off to Miami to stay the night.
The final day of the trip was very relaxing as we spent the morning on the beach and then eventually made our way back to Orlando.

Both trips were a lot of fun and helped to make the first every Spring Break Mystery Trips a huge success.
